Yummy.

College Yesterday

1. Discovered we’re now allowed to drop Discrete Mathematics to take up Calculus due to lecturer’s and director’s advice.
Mood effect: Positive. Had always been better at calculus than statistics.

2. Sat next to a Hong Kong fellow in EALD class.
Mood effect: Neutral. So that is what Hong Kong people look like. Fairer than me eh.

3. Had tuna sandwiches for lunch with bits of shallots in it and also a slice of banana cake.
Mood effect: Highly positive.

4. Didn’t get to walk to the nearby coffee shop to buy tau sar piahs.
Mood effect: Negative. Darn.

5. Slept for 1 hour in college today before lessons started.
Mood effect: Neutral. Felt nauseous after sleeping facedown on a table.

Soon

Everyone (perhaps an exaggeration) is going home this weekend.

Lucky West Malaysians.

23 more days (excluding weekends) till I get to go home and eat my favourite tau sa piah.

Shopping & Rants

09012010509Yesterday, I met up with Jonas in KL. The initial plan was to go to Sunway Pyramid, have hawker food at the coffee shop opposite Sunway Pyramid, find my red bag, find my dress and find his shoes.

In the end, we ended up deciding to go to the Chocolate Festival at Mid Valley.

Where I had awesome spicy lo mai kai for lunch.

I thought the Chocolate Festival would be perhaps have a more “decorated environment” but it turned out to look just like a PC fair but with chocolates instead of electronics. Heh…

Good news was that, I found a red Carlo Rino bag. Bad news was that, the price burned multiple holes in my pockets. However, I didn’t find a single dress (that was appropriate or perhaps that I liked) in Mid Valley. 09012010510So… we went over to The Gardens and I found my dress! Or rather, sort of. Amazingly just when I found something appropriate that I liked, they ran out of size S.

Then we decided, okay let’s go to Sunway Pyramid. Again, I found no dress. But I had my stomach filled with one huge spicy chicken burger from Wendy’s. 3/4 of the fries and 2/3 of the drink could no longer fit into my stomach. Shame, what a waste.

Bought my groceries (I am terribly proud of myself that my groceries only came up to RM31.00 this week) and realized that it was “No Plastic Bag Day” in Selangor. Darn. The cashier gave me a very dirty look when I asked for a plastic bag and behold, I got charged 20cents for a plastic bag. Oh look, the environment is dying.

It is pretty stupid to charge only 20cents for a plastic bag on “No Plastic Bag Day”. There would probably be heaps of people who will be like “oh what the heck” and just go ahead paying the 20cents for a plastic bag to their own convenience. They should charge like RM2.00 but that wouldn’t be a too good thing for me or they should use paper bags instead. After all, the problem doesn’t lie in the people buying the goods, it lies in the supermarkets and shopping complexes giving out plastic bags. So why charge people just for plastic bags? Go give out paper bags.

Transport Issues, No Internet, No Water

That night, I could connect to my apartment wireless network and suddenly the next day, I can’t! What??!

Thank you Celcom for Celcom Broadband, I can still check my mail, Facebook and blog because of you. *Applauses*

One week has passed in Kuala Lumpur, pretty fast. Nothing much happened in college except for the fact that I have a new Chemistry, Physics and EALD teacher. I got my Physics and Mathematics evaluation examination papers back. I am speechless over how many careless mistakes I made. Mainly mistakes like… “33+22=108” and I have three big, red “careless” scrawled across my Physics paper by my lecturer. Looks I have not left my carelessness back in secondary school. Chemistry lecturer said to me, “it is a very good lesson to learn”.

Oh well… thankfully that exam is not counted into this years’ internal marks for my finals.

Busses fetching us from Casa Subang to college have gone haywire. On Tuesday, my housemate and I purposely took the 7.15AM bus. We napped during the bus ride. Then, the bus was nearing Sunway College and it suddenly decided to turn back without dropping us off. It arrived at Casa Subang at 7.40AM, fetched a whole big load of students and arrived at college at 8.15AM. They could have just dropped us off first…

Today, I woke up automatically at 4.45AM. So I went to make myself a cup of juice and then I went back to sleep. I woke up again at 5.15AM, grabbed all my bath items and went into the shower. Then… goodness! There was no water! I went to the toilet and turned on the hose tap. Thank goodness there was water. Unfortunately, just managed to fill up my pail almost half full but fortunately, that was enough to shower carefully.

Later, everyone else woke up and there were cries of, “no water!”

Saving Money

I said to myself, “I shall try to save money then I will be thiiiiiiiiiiiiis close to *inserts price tag value* buying another piano!”

Everyone scoffed that the idea of saving while in KL especially with the fact that JPA gives RM430.00 per month.

Now I think I should let that idea of saving incinerate.

It has only been one and a half days in KL and I have already spent approximately RM70.

RM12.00 gone on dinner while on board Air Asia
-two huge sandwiches (RM7.00)
-a cup of green tea (RM5.00)

RM40.00 gone on groceries
-two packs of Vitagen (RM7.00)
-a box of granola bars (RM9.00)
-a packet of shower foam refill (RM14.00)
-a new kitchen utensil holder (RM4.00)
-a bottle of Listerine (RM6.00)

RM13.00 gone on lunch at Papa Rich
-a bowl of curry laksa (RM10.00)
-a cup of tea (RM3.00)

Trips to Sunway Pyramid usually drain money from my purse.

Back in KL …

02012010429Went to watch “Did You Hear About the Morgans” with P on Saturday.
02012010433Again… Starbucks. Noobling had his first try at coffee.02012010438I thought it was a breath mint… but it turned out to be a gigantic rice grain.

Ah… left to KL on Sunday. Arrived at 5.15PM but thank goodness there was no jam, so Douglas and I reached Casa Subang in just roughly an hours time. Grocery shopped after that. Cleaned up my room, vacuumed, pinned up the curtains and packed a huge suitcase full of items to bring back to Kuching during the Chinese New Year holidays. Also found out that I have new housemates, they moved into the vacant master bedroom. I still have my whole room to myself.

Auto woke up at 5.15AM today despite the fact that I slept at 2.15AM. Attended a short briefing on touring the new Ausmat intake tomorrow. Went over to Sunway Pyramid from 11PM until about 3PM. One of them has a car now.04012010462Big mirror.04012010466 Shiny beanie I saw that matches my shiny shirt.
