STS Food and Fun Fair 2006!

I nearly got a heart attack...
My mum woke me up this morning and she was like, "wake up! It's 6.45am already!" I sat upright like a jack knife. I was like "6.45???!" I was thinking *shoot! I'm so late! My shift starts at 7am!* Then my mum was like, "eh, oops, 5.45am." Sheesh.

First shift at plants stall...
My shift started from 7am to 9am at the plants stall with Rhe. So first, we set up the stall. It's like majority gave the famous answer, "I'll come back later." Sheesh. But ended up we sold plants worth Rm52 all together. Not bad la. I think we were the ones on shift that sold the most compared to the others on shift. There we tried to count the numberous number of Ah Bu's and Ah Li's we could spot.

Second shift at games stall...
It was boring I tell you! We had this dart game and lucky draw. I promoted until I got bored and just stopped promoting. Puan Normizah's husband was really good at the darts thingy. I tried the darts game after that, out of 3 tries, I popped one balloon and got some VCD. Rhe managed to pop 2 balloons and got some VCD too.

At the pagoda...
After my shift, I went to get some food and drinks with Rhe. Then we went to rest at the pagoda with Esther, Nisha, Geraldine, Agnes, Angie, David, Isaac and some other guy. They were telling some IQ joke questions. It was stupid and funny! Here's one...There was a submarine and it can carry up to 100 people. There are already 99 people on board. A pregnant lady gets on board and the submarine sinks, why?

About the fair...
Hot, stuffy, humid, lots of people, smell of sweat hung in the air, you can't hear the song requests, overall...fun time with friends. Nothing much special about it. My class earned more than Rm4500. Basically, there was this two girls from 4A1 who dressed rather like hoookers and were acting like they were so pretty and hot and stuff like that. Then one of the 'hooker's in the tube dress got her arse grabbed by her boyfriend in front of our 3A1 stall and we were laughing at them. The 'hooker' slappped her boyfriend's hand away. I mean, that was the first time I witnessed arse-grabbing. Hahaha. And lots of them dressed rather overly-fancy for a food and fun fair. I mean...you know it's going to be hot and stuffy, so why get all dolled up with make up and fancy clothes? I mean you know the make up is going to smear and the clothes will make you sweat more. So you want to look like a clown? How very 'attractive'! Danny claims I was stalking him and Teh because coincidentially, they kept ending up behind us or infront of us. Mainly they ended up behind, so that made them the stalkers not Rhe and I. Right? Of course I am right.

******
Some exhibition...
There was some software exhibition at Permata. I went there with my dad just now. Kind of interesting. My sort of thing. My dad bought a new Cannon Digital Ixus 60 camera and a Philips headset and some 2GB Mwalker mp4 player for me. It's really slim and has a black front and a silver metal back. It has a 4 x 4 cm screen. It's about as thick as a 2B Faber Castle pencil and weighs 52 grams.
Sick...
I got sick after the fun fair. Down with cough and flu and somehow, I transmitted my sickness to Teh through the internet. Hahaha. Or either, my germs were already in the air this morning at the fair.
Bets with Jason...
I had 3 bets with Jason this month....He made them with me actually...
1) See who gets a better position, looser writes for the winner 20 testimonials, praising and up to 1000 words.
2) Match between Germany and Argentina. It was 1-1 but Germany scored the penalty. But, nice Jason claims that I only said we bet until the extra time not until the penalty. So,
technically, it was a draw between us two. Looser was supposed to pay Rm10.
3) Match between England and Portugal. I have no idea about the results...I shall see tomorrow. Looser is expected to write 10 testimonials.

3A1's secrets revealed!

Pondans of 3A1!
My class got pondan!!! Muahahaha! Namely Wendy and Chong! They act like pondans, with all the walk and the talk! Plus you should see when they do that blinking thing. Gelik, I tell you! We were saying they should throw a pondan play this Saturday. Surely earn ringgits I tell you! Then we were saying, surely later got the original pondans say, "eee...why didn't ask me to act!". Honestly, they are more amusing and gelik to watch compared to the original pondans!

Cheating for Geo!
Eee...Esther and Michelle cheat for Geo...You want to know how? Esther has a Sarawak map on her leg! No...she didn't draw it...she was born with it. Birth mark. It's exactly like a Sarawak map! As for Michelle, she has a Semenanjung map on her thigh. Exactly like a Semenanjung map, I tell you! So before exam, must be they go label where is where!!! Wonder who has a world map...

Food and fun fair preparations!
First thing I did today at school...move coconuts from Puan Tan's Unser to the staff room. Then, one teacher goes, "put the coconut properly, like this hard for people to walk." So, okay lo...I stack them up really nicely as in really, really nicely and another teacher comes and goes, "Don't put all these here! Put somewhere else! Put outside!". I ignored that one because Puan Tan asked us to put it there. Then, another teacher comes, "no! Don't let the coconut *branch-thingy* touch the sofa! Can stain it, you know!". This time, I was like going 'swt'. Then when Lilian moved the wooden table with a glass topping nearer to the sofa so that there would be space for the orchids, one teacher went, "no! Don't move the table so near to the sofa! When the glass touch the sofa, it can break! Last time already break before!". I mean...no comments...just swt.

Hi Siw Hua, how's Shu Hwa?
Esther, Rhe and I spent most of our in the bilik sumber, doing nothing, and talking to Mr. Tan. Making him guess the whole LSH thing. Actually the thing went like that, we like to disturb Siw Hua with, "Hi Siw Hua, how's Shu Hwa (Mr. Tan)?". Joking that Siw Hua likes Mr. Tan. So then, we made Mr. Tan guess who was LSH (Lee Siw Hua). Then, Mr. Tan took hours to guess. Later he walked pass while we were playing chess outside the music room and we stopped him and asked him if he figured out who LSH was. Then we gave clues and finally he was like, "why her?" then he turned the Rhe and jokingly said, "wait till your mother hears this!". Got smacked by Siw Hua so many times today...

School fight turns police case
The fight in SJS that I mentioned about yesterday, became a police case, my mum told me today. It was between some bumiputeras.

Eh, want marry me?

Last day of pre-sell, last day of spaghetti!
Today's the last day! No more spaghetti, no more sushi, no more pudding, no more whatsover and that means, money stays in my purse! I spent so much this week just because I didn't have any break duty, I spent so much on spaghetti, sushi and pudding! Argh! I think like roughtly more than ten ringgit just flew away! Sobs....

Eh, want marry me?
Rhe was telling this story about how Elaine's dad proposed to Elaine's mum. At the movies, he went, "eh, want marry me?" and the mother was saying, so unromantic! Then, Christine was asking us, next time how you want the guy to propose to you. She said she wanted to full package, flowers, kneeling and ring in the middle of a fancy restaurant... *cough* Spreaking of marriage, we considered pranking up the song request this Saturday by making a song request from somebody to somebody that leaves a message saying, "will you marry me?". *wilma..cough*

No Ah Bengs and Ah Lians this Saturday, just Ah Bu's and Ah Li's...
As you know, the school food and fun fair is usually packed with those typical malay so-call punk/gangster wannabes. Usually you get less of those chinese punk/gangster wannabes. So, I was saying, "Surely this Saturday no Ah Bengs and Ah Liens, only got those...what you call the malay Ah Bengs hah?". Rhema replied with, "Ah Bu's and Ah Li's." (Abu & Ali).

Accidents and fights...
Some lady reversed her car, rammed up the 'kaki lima' and killed one lady who was eating there. Horrifying eh, it happened at Thompson Corner. You know, the one near Chung Hua No4 primary school. There was a gang fight today in SMK St. Joseph in the canteen. Some outsiders on bikes came in and the prefects did not dare to stop them. The outsiders were bashing some boys up with helmets. They were fighting. My mum was on duty in the canteen when it happened. I wonder what other fights go on at the food and fun fair...

Tennis!

Wimbledon Lawn Tennis 2006 is going on!
Started on the 26th of June. Well, I enjoy watching tennis though, most people might say it's pretty boring. My least favourite tennis player would definitely have to be Maria Sharapova. Perhaps Roger Federer too but Sharapova...she's way at the bottom of my list of tennis players. Basically, Jas simply worships Sharapova. Two reasons why I dislike Sharapova....
1) She grunts too much while playing.
2) She dresses strange. Turning the court into a runway....
Look at what she wore at the Australian Open...looked like some maternity dress. In case you are wondering which one, it was the blue Nike one. Even the comentator commented on it for goodness sake. Recently, if I did not get it mixed up, it was at the French Open, she wore something that looked remarkably like a pink tutu. Well, now it seems like she has more of a sense of dressing because she's starting to use shorts n top instead, rather like Hantuchova.

Presenting...one of my favourite tennis player...ANDY RODDICK!!!

Appart from few other tennis players which I pretty much support such as Nadal, Hantuchova, Hardene, Hinggis and Haas, Roddick's one of those few tennis players that I support. Three reasons why...

1) He plays well at tennis.
2) He looks good. *laughs*
3) He certainly does not grunt loudly like Sharapova.

First sport to play after PMR...
Duh, what else? Tennis of course! I have a racket that had been, probably untouched for years. It's Head. The grip had worn off already, I would need to get that changed beforehand and oh, stringed as well. I thing the string tension is kind of loose now, after all, it had been untouched for years. Well, I once did consider archery but I decided that I prefered tennis afterall, it's more to my kind of thing because you get to actually run around. Afterall...you don't run around with bow and arrows in the archery range...

Hochaki!

What would I look like in 80 years time? A sneak preview into the future!
A question we would ponder about. During Moral period today, Christine, Rhe and I got so bored so we did caricactures of what we would look like in 80 years time. Rhe and Christine did stick-men caricactures but a drew a portrait of Christine and somebody we usually disturb her with *cough*. It looked like a hag and a warty, beardless Santa Clause. Moral was absolutely boring until we resolved to 3 boring games of Bingo, which, nevertheless failed to cure our boredom. Furthermore, nearly half of the class was gone, busy wrapping stuff for the school food and funfair.

SMK. St. Teresa Food and Fun Fair...1st July 2006
Preparations for the food and fun fair are being done now. This Friday, we all got to go to school to set up our stuff. No books, no bags, no school uniform required on that day, just any school T-shirt, shorts/pants and shoes. There would be lots to be done! The fair is this Saturday, so be there and support my class, 3A1! Buy plants, food, drinks, play games, request songs or buy food from our Hilton food stall. Don't worry...101% guranteed no stomach aches after that. I would be having two shifts on that day, 7am-9am at the plants stall with Rhe and 9pm-11pm at the games stall with Kris, Zahira, Azureen and Amirah. Anyway, I added a slide show to my blog on my 2005 Hari Kecemerlangan and 2005 QKA972 bus snapshots.

Hochaki!
I know...first question...HUH? Well, it involves Esther and her Hokkien. Last time, I taught her to say "wa eh hiaw" (translation: I know how), it came out from her mouth as "wa eh hiao" (translation: I can be cheeky). Today, Wendy pulled Esther's leg by teaching her how to say 'good morning' in Hokkien. Honestly, I don't think we say 'good morning' in Hokkien, do we?? So, direct translation of 'good morning' into Hokkien would be "hoh chah kie". Well...out of Esther's mouth, it sounded like "hochaki" . Sounded rather like a Hokkien foul word. Esther owes me butternuts...

Miracles Do Happen

Jason was telling me about this story yesterday evening... about this Bidayuh boy in Lundu and he’s 12 years old. He got stung by something that the hospital couldn’t identify. Then, he fell into a comma and then he woke up from the comma and two days later he died. According to MJ, when the boy woke up, he was sort of half-hallucinating and was saying things like, “can you move that corpse?” It’s kind of amazing with some people’s will power to live. Like Jas said, it was like the boy didn’t give up. Well, that’s kind of true. It was like, he wanted to continue living or something. Well, it seems like there are lots of things that happened in Lundu that you could call them as miracles.

Another true incident that happened recently last month is the Theresa Rom incident. This group of people were having some church activity up at Lundu, they were trekking or something like that. On Theresa’s way down, she fell down and either fractured or broke her leg and it was really painful. She was like, about to pass out. Then suddenly she started screaming and laughing. Then it was like she was forced to get up and it was really painful (because of her leg injury) and she was screaming and pointing behind these two guys, screaming, “Why won’t you let me see Him?” Then, she passed out and then she was healed.

Miracles do happen, either you choose believe in them or not... One must read book is Heaven is So Real. The saddest and most touching part in the book (well, to me), was the part when the author saw her family being burnt in hell as they were Buddhists and did not repent to accept Christianity. I mean, imagine how it would feel to be looking at your own family being burnt in hell. I read Heaven is So Real last year and so far, I think that is the best book ever. Anyway, there's a nice song "I See Love" from the Passion of Christ by Steven Curtis Chapman.

The Deal

Made a deal with Jason yesterday. He suggested that we had this deal and compete with each other to see who would get a better position next term. The loser would have to write 20 testimonials for the winner and it has to be 1000 words and PRAISING!
I believe only the two of us are crazy enough to make such deals. I got my report card yesterday instead of today. Oh my gosh...it's already 24th of June! 99 more days to PMR! The month of June passes so fast! It's going to be July soon then August then September then OCTOBER! Oh well...October's my birthday and that's a good thing, I guess but PMR lands on the 2nd and ends on the 6th! Sigh...at least, I get to enjoy my birthday. I so can't wait for PMR to be over....

Mr. Wong

Highlight of 20th June 2006 (apart from a bad start of my day), I live two doors away from the principal of SMK. St. Thomas, Mr. Wong. Ironic isn’t it? If only I knew that earlier than I ought to have sent Jason and Danny knocking on Mr. Wong’s door. Sigh. I discovered this today when my mum told me about my dad’s conversation with Mr. Wong last night. Honestly, Mr. Wong doesn’t look very Thaksin-like just like how some Thomians that I know always describe and furthermore, his hair seems on the scale of pretty normal to me. Or perhaps, that’s because I do not stare. As we all know, nobody likes a nosy neighbour who peeks over the fence. How interesting it is to discover that Mr. Wong lives two doors away and how interesting it is to discover how I do not socialize with my neighbours until I had no idea that is the Mr. Wong and not to mention how I had been living two doors away for practically more than a decade. Ironic. Like that day, I was in the shower, suddenly I heard the piano playing. My first thought… “there’s a ghost downstairs playing the piano.” After giving that thought a logic check, that got thrown into the dustbin. Ridiculous idea. Second thought… “either one of my parents are playing the piano.” After giving that thought a logic check…my dad only plays the guitar and my mum stopped piano lessons at Grade 3, so no way they could play the Entertainer. Then, I went downstairs after showering and pushed the memory of me hearing the Entertainer and went to practice my piano. Then as I played Allegro, I kept hearing the faint tinkle of the Entertainer. I asked my mum if she heard a piano playing. She said yes and that she thinks that’s Mr. Wong’s daughter playing the organ or keyboard. My ridiculous first thoughts slipped away instantly. I only knew that Abraham a couple of doors down plays the guitar along with few other guys few doors down but I never knew that Mr. Wong’s daughter plays the organ or keyboard, whichever one it is. Ironic. Recently my neighbour’s son who lives opposite me had taken into playing basketball. I always thought I would live in this neighbourhood listening to the football being kicked around but now, dribbling of the basketball around the area and the bang when the ball hits the wall. Last time I had this neighbour named Jason. When he was little, his idea of fun was literally climbing out of the window and onto the roof. The first time I saw that happening, I literally got shocked and my first thought, “oh my gosh! He’s trying to kill himself!”. Well, it’s not like he just stands motionless on the roof, he literally walks around and towards the edge of the roof. Well, now I think Jason has quit the roof-climbing activity of his, well, after all, that was years and years ago. Anyway, today Puan Tan handed out to everyone who got A for maths chocolate. Her theory is that chocolate boosts brain power. Maybe, I ought to eat more of that, I could be the next Albert Einstein. Anyway, it’s Joshua’s birthday today so Happy Birthday Joshua!!!

Music exams!

(19/6/2006)
Woke up at 6.15am today…first thought that crossed my mind…oh no…piano exams today! I arrived at Merdeka Palace at 7.30am. Mrs. Ling was there already. So, we went up to the waiting room on floor 5. My examiner was Mr. David and wow, he comes real early! At 7.45am, he said he was ready already and at 8.00am I was called in! 30 minutes earlier than my actual time which was at 8.30am! Thank goodness I was there 45 minutes earlier than my actual piano exam time! He gave me one strange option at the sight singing part. He asked me if I wanted to sing or play. At first, I was shocked. I was thinking, “oh crap! What part of aural is this? Did my piano teacher teach me this before? How come I don’t seem to remember playing in aural???” Then I just gave it a random shot and picked sing. Unusual! I heard that the male examiners are friendlier than the female examiners. So thank God I got Mr. David as my examiner. I don’t know how well or how bad I did for my piano exam…scary…and I don’t want to think about it. Then, I waited at the lobby for my dad to pick me up and then we went for breakfast. I didn’t go to school today, spent my morning (it’s 11.40am now), ripping CDs into my new computer. Ripping a Hillsongs album now. Going to download more songs later. People can’t live without oxygen, food and water whereas I, can’t live without oxygen, food, water and the computer plus internet.

Red Crescent Public Duty

So I woke up at 7.00am today and got ready for Red Crescent public duty at St. Teresa School Hall for the Taekwondo Sparring Championship. Starts at 8.30am and ends at 6.00pm but I left earlier at 5pm because my parents had a wedding dinner to attend to and anyway, my piano teacher Mrs. Ling is coming to my house tonight, later at 7.00pm to give me extra lessons because my piano exams is tomorrow! Scary! The sparring was pretty boring at first half when all the junior belts were sparring. We were given chicken rice and mineral water. Second half..wow..the senior belt guys sparred...so violent! A few guys got kicked at the pelvic area and were like winded on the floor. One Greenian got kicked at his back and he had a back injury last year and he was like close to fainting. One girl seriously fainted. Lilian and I met this empire who was from Greenroad. Some how, all Greenians have this style that just shouts "I'm a Greenian!!!" I was like, "of course la, greenians are fair, with glasses, tall and skinny." After nearly 10 minutes he said, "and teresians are usually fair, with long hair, and the smart ones wear glasses and they talk alot." Lol. He was talking about PMR and how you can just close your eyes and 'tik tik tok tok' and it's a piece of cake. As if ahhhh! For him maybe la, since he was probably Form5 or something like that. The only thing that I don't know about this Greenian is his name. Didn't bother to ask. And this Josephian wore this particularly ugly pair of metallic blue shades in the hall, he was an empire and I told him in Hokkien, "so ugly!" By the way,t he guys there were so ego! They were like injured but they refused to get or ask for treatment. One Greenian just took the Metsal and rubbed it on himself...well..good thing too, so we didn't have to massage it on. Even these few girls sitting nearby were asking us, how many guys came already for first aid and when we said 3-5, they were like "ego!". Well..got to agree. This Greenian was like winded more than 5 times probably and he still insisted on continuing. Guys...typical...ego...

Why Not Take The Chance?

Why Not Take The Chance?

I'm falling through the door,
Falling for someone called you,
Everything feels so right,
Feels like I'm standing on a mountain,
Stars shining brightly above me,
Have you seen such a beautiful night?
It only takes one chance,
For three simple words,
Why not take the chance?
Spread my wings and fly,
The wind blowing in my hair,
Discovering so much more in life,
I want to know what it feels like,
I need to know what is it like on the inside,
I already have everything,
More than any girl could ask for,
I already have a million,
But I want just one more, you,
To make it a million and one,
So, why not take the chance?
If I loose this moment,
I may loose a lot,
What was once a dream, a fantasy,
I'm going to make it into reality,
This are what dreams are made for,
It may take a little or it may take a lot,
So, why not take the chance?

As funny as it seems, love is something that comes and goes as it likes. You don't get to choose who or when but it chooses you and for you whenever it likes and doesn't even bother about your schedule! It seems foolish to start at such an early age and that, I must say I agree but ever wondered if what you pushed aside is something that you are missing out on and that there is no turning back? Or that there might be something better around the corner? Is love something that comes, takes up your time, breaks your heart and leaves silently or is it something that comes, brings joy and sweet memories that last a life time? No matter what it is, nobody lives without it. If it's really yours, it's yours forever. Love, indeed is something beautiful. From love in a mother's eyes at her firstborn child to love in a couple's eyes, it is the most beautiful and precious gift to have.

Shock of my life!

Got a shock of my life this week. My total marks for this term beats Wendy's by 9 full marks, marking an end to her endless history of countless terms of being first in class. Dropped for Sejarah honestly, from 93 to 81. Improved for Maths from 87 to 95. Improved for Science from 88 to 95. Improved for BM from 79 to 91. Improved for English *rolls eyes* from 88 to 89. Dropped for KH from 90 to 88. Improved for Geo from 86 to 90. Skip that, exams are over anyway. It was Teacher's Day celebrationt oday...big bore. Long, winding speeches, long, boring performacnes except the ones by STS band. cake-cutting which, we prefects got to munch off backstage. I got RC marching tomorrow from10.45 to 12.15 and Public Duty for the Taekwondo Championship as a First Aider from 8.30 to 6pm on Sunday. Piano exams this Monday..oh gosh...it's freaking me out. I'm the first one at 8.30am!!! But good news is that I get to skip school on that day. Oh, my new computer is finally ariving tomorrow, finally I will get to blog smoothly without any lagging or disturbances. Today, I had Puan Chen BM tuiiton after piano and violin and it was actually pretty interesting today. We read 'Jalan Sempit' drama today and few people including me, got picked to read several characters. It was pretty funny honestly, the way it was said.

Six Friends

I got tagged by Kenny! How many tags have I answered to lately??? Uncountable I tell you. So...here goes my answers to this tag...

Here I start with six friends who brought or bring special meanings to me.

1. We had been in the same primary school since primary one to primary six and yet, we never spoke to each other. Who knew that we became the best of friends right when we stepped into Form 1! And we took the same bus and we were certainly a pair that did alot of pranks back in Form 1. We talked alot, got told off alot, laughed alot, crapped alot and viola, here we are, two prefects this year! We did practically almost everything together and we sat together ever since Form 1, well, what are best friends for? You are someone that I would certainly remember for the rest of my life and you have a special place somewhere in my life.

2. How we met? I have no idea but it was great fun and joy meeting you. The numerous and uncountable times you made me laugh and the times we laughed together. Not to forget how generous you are, spending RM50 at least! Well, you only did that because I begged you to! It certainly was nice knowing you because you were the easygoing and good-natured kind whom I had never seen mad before except once because of someone but then, 15 minutes later, you were as right as rain.

3. We thought we were just friends and then one day...we discovered, that we were relatives. Remember how we went around trying to figure out whose rank was higher and whether I was the aunty or the niece or vice versa or if we were cousins and how we laughed at the thought of calling each other aunty. Though there was a big fight that came between both of us, though we didn't let it get in between us much but there was probably a gap that grew in between us for those few weeks we didn't speak to each other.

4. You are probably the blurrest person I know but you make one great friend. You could be trusted and your blurrnest always made everyone laugh. You knew when to be serious and when to laugh and that made you a good listener. You are probably the only person I know who skips school for the most times.

5. They said we looked alike and the only way to tell us appart was by height and teeth because you had braces. And there was Ian who couldn't tell us appart. We did lots of things together, laughed and so forth. You were a cheerful person and always stuck up for me. You were a sensible person as well and you knew how to keep things told to you.

6. You are so much different from my other friends. Why? Because you have this nature that you are funny and serious. You dare to speak up what's on your mind. Not only that, you can take things easy and you were a good friend to talk to. You were a sporting character who never failed to make anyone laugh especially when it comes to teacher calling on you during tuition.

I've completed my six friends desriptions. If I would want to elaborate more of each friend, I would finish my whole night describing about them.

World Cup started yesterday and now, practically 100% of the guy friends I have are sitting glued in front of their television sets 24/7 and watching FIFA World Cup 2006 at Germany. Even some of my friends who are girls are glued to the television as well...
I never get the heat of football. I don't understand why 7(?) grown-up men would run after a ball like it is some hot potato. So uninteresting, for me. Jason is like glued to the tv. I can't believe he worked for 3 days at a Shell Station. I just came back from my aunty's new house at Lorong Lapangan Terbang. We took so many pictures there. It was a gathering la, house-warming actually. They just moved in. I had lots of fun there. We took lots of photos as well. Here's one. Oh, the food was great too.

    Red Crescent Leadership Camp 2006

The Red Crescent Youth Unit 8 camp was tiring but fun. I wanted to go for tuition yesterday after the camp but by 7pm, I was already in bed. So much for tuition. Here's what that happened at camp.

    Day 1
So the leaders and assistant leaders for the camp had to be there early at school time, so I reached there at aroung 6.40am and I was the first to arrive. Then, Cordelia arrived. She was the leader for Group3 and I was the assistant leader. Then, we stuck up the Friendly Reminder notice that I printed on the classroom door and we continued to make a 'dressing room' for our group and for Group 4. (Group 1 and Group 2 shared class 3A7 and Group 3 and Group 4 shared class 4A1). Then later, we all grouped at the St. Jude basketball court. It was the group leaders' turns today to do reporting to the camp commander, Natasha who was also our HSL. Then it was group sorting. In my group (3 or as we named ourselves because our group colour was yellow, Busy Bees) was Adeline Azreena, Emily, Joyce and Nabila. We had to make our own group cheer and moto. Then, it was ice breaking time. First game was you had to draw your own face then the facilitators collect it and redistribute it and you had to find and guess the person's face and ask 3 questions. Next some game when you had to eat bread. Then it was refuel (I taught my group members some basic First Aid and bandaging and Cordelia taught them some basic marching during refuel.) then lunch. My group had to clean up the canteen and another group cleaned up the toilets. Later in the noon, we had a talk but I had to leave because I had a dental appoinment at 3.30 and I was back at 4.00pm. When I returned, they were playing this game when you had to imagine that you were on a ship and there was an explosion and you had to write a love letter to your loved ones. Then later, it was shower time then dinner time. My group, once again had to clean the toilet and walked out of the school to the dumpster to dump the rubbish. Then we had a First Aid talk by this Form6 RC member, Norman Goh who brought along his cousin to become a demo. He was really good at this First Aid stuff. He talked about what to do during certain situations and some bandaging and loading the stretcher and so forth. Bef

    Day 2

So after the talk, we leaders and assitant leaders suspected that there would be SAR early in the morning today, told our members and viola! We were right! At 3pm they woke up us, shouting that it was SAR an dget up at go to the music room. Sleepy-eyed, everyone dragged on their RC t-shirts, Adeline and I grabbed my jacket and Cordelia grabbed her belt so that we would have stuff to improvise with later at SAR. So group by group went. When it was our turn, we were blindfolded and then lead to the kindergarten where we were unblindfolded and then Natasha let us listen to this recording of the scene twith people screaming, shouting for help and a gunshot. Then there was a scream and we all had to rush to the scene. I was the leader for SAR so I had to tell them to clear the scene, to do this and that and I had to check on them and do the phone call. Vicky said that I did good at SAR (?) and that it was good that I could give First Aid talks at the scene (?) although in my opinion I wasn't very sure what to do and they said that I should have done some of the the bandaging myself but it was my first time after all and I wasn't even sure if I was allowed to bandage poeple up. Our group came in 3rd for SAR with 2 saved casualties. Group1 and 3 saved 2 casualties and group 1 and 4 saved one casualty. SAR was a big 'kelam-kabut' scene. I only had 2 seniors in my group, Cordelia and Adeline. They did well but th rest...*slaps head*, they tried their best but it was really really hard and frustrating to get them to do things. One of my group members screamed at a 'passer-by' to shut up and marks got cut off. I told her to do an armsling after I improvised and she just tied the arm to the casualty's body *sigh*. After it was over, we got back to our dorm at around 5am and everyone went back to sleep except me and woke up at 6 again. Puan Tan sold breakfast that day. Sandwiches and burgers. There was no reporting for us assistant leaders today because the committee was too sleepy and tired from waking up before 3pm to prepare for the SAR. Yay! I was worried about reporting. Then, we had a history talk about RC at the canteen. Then, later some aerobics which, was really fun especially with Debra leading it. Then, we had lunch and then the obstacle course. It was fun, I actually drank bittergourd juice mixed with sprite. Blekkk....I didn't know what was that until they said it was bittergourd juice. It was like my taste buds were destroyed. I had one sip then later, no taste after that, so I drank it all up. Finally it was flour and eggs toss. Ugh! Hard to get it egg and flour off after that. But it was fun. I got my mum over to get my dirty laundry home. Then, we had post-mortem in the music room after dinner and shower. Then, a game where we had to make a sketch or sing with every sentence the word we were given must be included. My group got the word 'kuda kepang'. I like the committee's sketch about their word 'pisang'. Then abit of aerobics again then lights out at 12.

    Day 3

Day to go home...sobsob! At 3pm today, we got woken up by the commitee for fire drill. Then we all went back to sleep again like stones. Because footdrill was today, Cordelia and I woke our group up at 5pm for some marching.First, some reporting by the leaders. Then...ahah! Time for aerobics and because I and a few other people forgot to wear our tags yesterday, we were supposed to lead the aerobics but somebody must have prayed really hard for that not to happen until the radio refused to function. Lol. After that it was hot and cold chair time. What said I'm not supposed to repeat it here so shhhhhh, nothing from my mouth. Then we had more marching practices. After lunch at 2, it was marching competition. Group 4 won. There marching was really good. They were the only group that did paras. Cordelia and I decided to cut out paras because our platun kept screwing up paras. So we only did the basics. At the marching, our platun, nobody said the timing except Adelien adn I because we knew that was happening, both of us planned to shout it out when nobody said it. Then we got to march with the committee. They march like wow! Then it was prize-giving. Best group went to Group 4, I got best leader, Best Form1 member was Crystal, Best Form2 member was Adeline (she was really great, I have a feeling that she would be a good RC leader when it's her time), best marcher was Crystal, Estella got Friendlest member (I think that was the award). Then it was photo-taking then clean up and time to go home.

Well, that was all. Camp was fun. I would certainly go for the next one. Despite how my feet and arms ache from the numerous marching practices we pulled.

    Hustle...bustle...packing!

Oh my gosh! I got my bags packed for Red Crescent Leadership Camp tomorrow. I have like a hand-carry bag stuffed with clothes, First-Aid manual, triangular bandage, 3 small packets of Jacob Sunlite biscuits, a pail stuffed with newspapers, a scoop and 3 big bottles of mineral water, a paper bag stuffed with an electric kettle, a plate, a cup, fork and spoon, my Nikes and some other stuff. I mean, it's only a 3 day 2 night stay in school and look how many things I had to bring along. I mean, I could live with just one hand carry bag on a 5 day trip. We a clean-up this morning. Cordelia and I brought vacuum cleaner and a mop and we were the only two group leader and assistant leader who did that and we came at 7.30! Then we practiced a bit of bandagaing and marching (the lapor diri thing). I have to lapor diri on the 2nd day, hopefully, I don't screw up. Hope I don't screw up when I give commands during SAR.Yesterday, I spent 2 full hours trying to log online but ah...I failed. And today, I figured out what was wrong, the plug! That 3-holed plug thingy was loose so I temporarily sellotaped it up and I managed to get online.

    Lundu

Just came back from Siah Beach (is that how you spell it?). Siah Beach is at Lundu. Uncle Ah Choon, Uncle Ah Gu and his wife, Aunty Bernadette and their two children, Sarah and Loren, Uncle Raymond and his wife, Aunty Nora and their daughter, Ah Bie (Andrea), my dad and I went. We stayed at Uncle Jimmy's beach house for one night. My dad and I picked Uncle Ah Choon from his house and then, they went to the 3rd Mile market to buy some chicken and pork to cook up at Lundu. I swear I can never ever be a housewife who does marketing. I just can't stand the smell of the market but it's rather interesting to see what part of an animal is hung up. So, if I ever get married, my husband ought to do the marketing just like my dad does. Hahaha. So after that, we went for breakfast of kolo mee at this coffee shop near MJC with Uncle Ah Gu and his family. Uncle Ah Gu's eldest son, Sam didn't want to come along because he said that he's not going because of his two noisy siblings Sarah and Loren. Then, later we leave to Lundu. A long and pretty boring car ride. Then, we all stopped at the Lundu Market and they did some more marketing. I don't quite remember what they bought. Then later, Uncle Raymond and his family arrived at Lundu after lunch hour. So for lunch that day, they cooked chicken rice and I ate. Ah Bie, Sarah, Loren and I went to the beach. Ah Bie and I went to the beach many times, simply uncountable. They said that my name was too long so they shortened it to Gabby instead. And it isn't easy to differentiate Ah Bie from Gabby, you know! And today, after swimming, we filled up the entire beach with sand-writing. And somebody added a comment about what we did, saying that "dua perempuan gila bodoh!" with and arrow pointing to the word "Right" that Ah Bie and I drew. That night we slept, Ah Bie kept hearing this "ot ot" noise. Aunty Nora claimed it was a wild pig but Uncle Ah Choon said that it was actually some big lizard. Something like a monitor lizard but not. So, they called it an "ot ot". I had to endure snores from my dad and Uncle Ah Choon that night. It was like nonstop, loud and alternate snoring from both of them. So today, Ah Bie and I went for a walk at the beach early in the morning, around 6am to 7am like that. And we walked in the shallow part of of the water and there was this group of guys there around the age of 15 or 17 who went in and then jumped out again and said that we were both crazy for going into the water when it was so cold. Then there was another group of 'pien tai' guys who were swimming that time and when we walked pass, they were busy commenting and being 'pien tai' and asking each other, "eh, which one you want?" and pointing at us. Then, one of them said, "eh, how old are they?" and another replied, "I think forty-five." And then later, we went swimming again. After that I had this red splotchy blotches on my legs and it turns out that I got stung by jellyfish. We left Lundu around 3pm. Ah Bie and her family went to Gunung Gading right after they left Lundu. Oh yea, Ah Bie and I took photos of our names that we drew in the sand and some pictures of both of us together with Sarah and Loren. I'll put some of the pictures we took in here some other day after Ah Bie sends them to me. Today, they harvested coconuts and we ate some of them. The rest were brought back to Kuching. There was smoked fished today and smoked corn today. Basically, there were alot of smoked stuff. I am like so red from swimming and all those activities I had done together with all of them up in Lundu. I asked my dad to go to Watson tonight to get me my lotion because I ran out of it. Hopefully I won't turn black! If I do...cry ah I tell you. Speaking of turning black...got Red Crescent Leadership camp ah! Marching means under the sun. SAR not so bad because it may be at night. I think I just struck off joining tennis off my list. I'm just not a big lover of the sun. I'll stick to archery.
