Back from a ski trip or rather in my case, snowboarding. Tough to learn especially in with really strong winds and hail, but it was fun to learn especially when you’re actually on the board and moving. But not so much when you’re trying to pick yourself up off the ground and hail is pelting at your face. The weather got harsher towards later in the afternoon.
Day 1
View from the deck at chalet we stayed in, The Bretts Thermal Spa Resort, Taupo.
The sun deck.
One of the rooms.
Part of the room.
Hot pools. Brilliant in winter.
Strong winds indeed. Weather was rather chilly up at Taupo.
Homemade spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.
Day 2
Started a two hour journey up Mount Ruapehu for skiing and snowboarding, the weather was rather harsh, raining all the way up.
Up at Mount Ruapehu and again, harsh weather and wind. My gloves, beanie and hoodie was drenched by late afternoon.
Warm hot chocolate the moment we got back to the chalet.
Home cooked spinach, mushroom and ham pasta with feta cheese salad for dinner.
Day 3
Stopped by Huka Falls on the way home.
