Happy New Year!!! Today's the first day of the year 2007, a brand new year with a brand new start. I went out with my parents last night for supper and then a car ride around town. I must say that the New Year celebrations in Kuching are pretty quiet or shall I use a better word, modest? A couple of bangs in the sky created by the small little displays of fireworks here and there, popping up in the sky, wheezing happily and appart from that, nothing special. Then, we drove past Padungan area and it was packed with human beans engorged in celebrating their New Year in different cafes and clubs. You could hear loud techno music blastic as you drive pass. The place was simply crawling with people, packed like sardines.
Anyway, I was supposed to go out this afternoon to watch Night in the Museum with Choulyew,
Ian and a human bean at Star Cineplex. Unfortunately, this human bean couldn't make it so, we shifted our plans to Tuesday instead. Our original plan was to go for a round of pool at Everise
but then, the pool place was not open on public holidays so the plan shifted over to catching a
movie. Unfortunately, on Tuesdays, the pool place at Ala Cart wouldn't be open. Too bad but
nevertheless, at least I get to go out before school reopens on the 3rd of January! Wow, an
entire year really flies from 1st of January 2006 to 31st December 2006 and landing gracefully
on the 1st of January 2007!!! Anyway, I decided to list down 10 things on the most memorable
moments of 2006.
10. I had my very first aspirin allergy on the 23d of July 2006.
9. I first wore retainers on the 28th of March 2006.
8. I tried vegeterian kolo mee for the very first time this year 2006.
7. I got first in class for my second term exam in May 2006.
6. I sat for PMR examinations on the 2nd of October 2006.
5. I first started shooting training on 31st of October 2006.
4. I went for my very first shooting competition at on the 5th to 11th of December 2006.
3. I had a great day with my Christmas present on the 26th of December 2006.
2. I got 7A's for my PMR 2006 when results were out on the 28th of December 2006.
1. I received the best Christmas present on the 16th of December 2006.
A new member to my collection... Russ named it Wellesley...
By the way, something really interesting happened at night when my family and I were heading out to Crown Plaza. Just few meters away from our house, my dad's car suddenly stopped. Apparently, the engine got jammed. So, all plans to Crown Plaza was aborted. While my dad walked home to get my mum's car, my mum and I headed over the Green Gallery. There, I found the cutest Russ Berrie teddy named Wellesley which, my mum bought for me! Oh, she helpfully told the salesboy that it was my 100th teddy bear. Then, we ended up eating dinner at Jade Mandarin. I had a glass of beer and a glass of stout. Strangely, beer didn't taste as bad as I recalled how it used to be last time. I didn't get drunk... if that's what that's running through your head now...

I went to watch Curse of the Golden Flower movie this afternoon with a couple of fellow shooters from the Sarawak Shooting Team and with the bestest human bean on the globe. Well, what are my comments on this movie. Hmm... first of all, it's pretty boring just like Ian had said. I ought to have watch Night in the Museum (I think I got the title right!). Curse of the Golden Flower is an awfully gold movie and I mean it literally. The decorations, scenery and set up are all shades of gold or either a relative of the gold colour. The movie is just gold, gold, gold and so gold! Even the pots they used are gold! The movie has alot about lust as well, this person likes that person and yet that person likes another person. Typical. You'll only get to see Jay Chou for perhaps, four to six times in the movie. Or perhaps he appeared more times than that but I got distracted by something else while watching the movie so perhaps I did not pay much attention to the movie. Overall, it's just not a very interesting and catchy movie but the company I had to the movie was wonderful! Therefore, it wasn't a waste of my money to pay for the tickets! Oh hang on, I did not pay for my ticket, somebody (a very sweet one too) paid for my ticket! Hehehe!!!

I'm just joking. I would love to have a puppy really but I found a dog in my stocking, illeterally. And it's the bestest, bestest Christmas present ever!!! May I repeat it once more, the bestest indeed!!! Because it's so sweeeeeet, cuuuute and the list goes on and on and on!!! Even longer than my Christmas shopping list or Christmas wish list!!!Hehehe!!! My special Christmas present arrived just on time today!!! Hehehee!!! Anyway, my grandparents came to visit this morning. Then, we had dinner just now. Argh... I am so full now. Piggy Gabby! We'll be going for midnight mass at Blessed Sacrament Church later. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! Hugzz!!!
What a beautiful day today is!!! Ahh...I dragged myself out of bed at 6.45am this morning just to go for shooting training. Today they had a competition for air rifle men and air pistol men 10m for the Sukma 2008 listing. I just went to train for my competition on next Wednesday. Today, I actually shot better than yesterday. Mainly 9s and 10s! No 8s and 7s like my competition yesterday!!! Ish! Anyway, after training I went for lunch at MJC with a couple of shooters. There Stella was, spitting bits of ice at people with a straw.
Haih... what does a frustrated person like me do after shooting really badly at a competition today with a total score of 326 do now? Go online and blog about it over a slice of American Chocolate. Today, we competed for Sukma 2008 listing. Only two of us competed for air rifle women 10m, namely Choulyew and I. What's wrong with me today?? Argh... 326... why! So many 8s all at the bottom left side. Adjust sight also no difference... why, why, why! Then, even got a 5 and a 4!!! At least got some 9s and 10s also, on the bright side. Coach Valentina and Ahmad told me that its because I'm using a new gun and I'm not familiar with it. Okay, that could be one of the reasons and another of the reason is probably because I woke up not feeling like shooting today. Haih... what a day!!!
Christmas Day is approaching, so kindly visit

Inside my grandparents' house...
Today, I went over to my grandparents' house to meet up with my cousins. My aunt offered to send me over at 6.00am when she dropped Stella and Edrea over at my grandparents' house but I turned down the offer as I knew 6.00am was a definite no-no for me to get up. Afterall, I slept at almost 3.00am SMSing last night. So, my mum dropped me off at my grandparents house at around 10.00am. Okay, what did I do there? I played Play Station 2 with my cousins and they all forced me to watch Advent Children. It was a pretty boring movie for me. I spend some time watching television, SMSing a pig, playing badminton and the remaining went to playing with Saber the German Shepard and Taurus the Rotweiler.
He's my Uncle Dennis' pet Rotweiler and he's 6 months old. My uncle brought him from Sibu to Kuching for a little holiday together with Aunty Lilian, Theo and Ben. Isn't he just adorable?? Maybe not for some people as when they think of Rotweilers, they tend to think of fierce dogs. But Taurus so isn't one like that!!! When I first walked through the gate, I saw this Rotweiler barking at me and I was thinking, "oh my gosh! A Rotweiler! I hope it doesn't bite me!" But later, I got near and it started licking my hand. Basically, he's one really friendly, loving and adorable doggie!!! I've got probably hundreds of litres of slobber all over me after he was done licking me for several times. Awww... he's just so cuuuuute!!! Or maybe I'm just another of those dog-obsessed people. Hehehe!!!
Today, they did some sort of program whereby we shooters went for archery at Petra Jaya today whereas the archers will come over to our shooting range this Friday for shooting. Archery is so not my ideal sport! There were three women rifle shooters, three women pistol shooters, four men rifle shooters and two men pistol shooters. Out of five shots, I only got two arrows embedded into the target face. The archery coach was complimenting on Ian that Ian had natural talent and shot like he had been training for three months already. Something about his arm structure. I got to try to pull the advanced bow and the cord is so tough! Archery is fun but still, shooting is the best!!!
Second attempt...that was when I found a really cute donkey!!! I couldn't resist...
Third attempt...all so posh and blue...
Final attempt...cool right? Well, that's because I did it!
But at the end of the day...mine turns out to be the best!!!
Yippee!!! It's Choulyew's 16th birthday today! So happy birthday to her and a big hug from me! She celebrated her birthday at Hartz Chicken and she finally got to see the present that Jason and I got for her! Before I went to Hartz, I went with Jason to get my eyesight checked and to get my lens done to fit into the rubber eyepiece for my rifle. When I took out the black rubber eyepiece, the dumb dumb Jason thought it was a pipe. And he was thinking, "why does this dumb Gab take out a pipe and ask the man to cut her specs that shape! So round again! Doesn't she know people just pick off the rack!". Hahaha!!! Anyway, before we went to Hartz, there she was trying to pick and ice cream cone to eat. She spent so long picking ice creams before she finally decided not to get one. She had to pick the most perfect ice cream that was not dented or squashed. It had to be a perfect cone. Then, it was off to eat at Hartz! Hehehehe!!! Let's tick off the names of the people who went... Choulyew, Ian, Jason, Soon Choy, Onga, Calvin, Stephanie, Amy, Stella and last but not least, me! Ian actually drank some weird concoction that Jason came up with that consisted of coffee, coke, pepper and salt and so did Soon Choy. Jason chickened out of drinking those mixtures. Then after that, I went to walk around with Choulyew, Ian and Jason. Guess what I saw! Those cute tortoises, just like the ones in Johor Bahru!!! I got to slap somebody so many times today! Side, arm, leg and I don't know! So many times! I'm so happy today!!! Even happier because I got such a pretty necklace today and a cute little teddy from the bestest human bean on the globe!!!

Two necklaces and a bracelet that I bought...
A pair of slippers that I bought...
Two tortoises and a teddy that I bought...
The keychains that I bought...
The latest teddy of my teddy bear family! (lousy photo, blame the photographer and it wasn't me...)

Last night, I took my parents out for some Korean cuisine. It ended up, they decided to eat some sort of spicy dishes instead. I still got to eat my Korean food of course. Hahahaha! Strictly nothing raw as I'm not a fan of raw dead animals like raw tuna for example. After that, we went shopping. I bought a new pair of purple heels from Vincci to match my new purple skirt alongside with some other items.

I woke up this morning with a sinus attack! Poor me... But, I carried on as usual by refreshing myself with an early morning SMS to my dear doggie right after I woke up and then getting myself freshen up in the bathroom. Today, the guard was busy lecturing about somebody not keeping their pistol yesterday and not even unpacking it from the casing and just leaving it around in the armoury. Turns out it was Leon's pistol. Anyway, I saw the pistol in the casing yesterday evening as I was the last one to leave the armoury. The case was left lying on top of one of the desks and the guard was asking me who's pistol was that and going on about people leaving their pistols unkept. I just told him that I had no idea whose pistol that was before I left the armoury and went home.

Look at those things! They are potatoes... purple ones! We've seen orange sweet potatoes and regular yellow potatoes but purple, just too fascinating for me not to blog about. Hahahaha! Call me a 'sakai' but it's just interesting. I had purple deep fried potato chips today, in short purple French Fries. Purple French Fries! Hmm... since Samantha is always obsessed with purple as I can observe, maybe I should get her a basket of purple French Fries...
For the second time within a week, I murdered Jason's handphone and I'm proud of it. Hahahaha! Once again, due to my SMSing it fell off and crashed onto the floor. Thankfully, it survived but according to the owner of the handphone, that's just because it's use to falling down and crashing onto the floor. Anyway, I followed my mum to the hairdresser today because she was going to get a fresh, new perm. So, while my mum got her hair permed, I went around Parkson and did a small bit of shopping myself. I got myself two tops from MNG, a pair of pants from Diesel and a pot of lip balm from Body Shop. I went back to waiting at the salon but then I got hungry later and I went back to Parkson and bought two cans of Luo Han Kuo teas, a packet of cashew nuts (I discovered that they are called gajus in Bahasa Melayu), two packets of peanuts and two bars of Time Out. I converted the salon into a cafe, sitting there drinking and eating while SMSing. I also read the Borneo Post and there was this freaky article about this suicide bomber grandmother at some war-torn country who threw a grenade, lighly injuring the soldiers and then, blowing herself up, leaving behind 9 children and 41 grandchildren. Then, I flipped towards the middle section and I saw the National Service list of names! I saw Kenny Voon's name (first name I laid eyes on. Hahahaha!) as well and hahahaha, he's 2nd intake if I'm not mistaken. Lucky guy... or should I be saying poor guy?? I dugged around the salon and discovered an old Lau Fu Tze comic book, which, I took and read as well. A couple of passerbys stared through the glass window at me reading that.
I smelt so many fragrance-sprayed strips that I bet my nostrils smell better than my body does. I was at the duty-free perfume shop at the airport with my parents. They went through so many selections of fragrances. I smelt several selections of Guess fragrances, Guy Laroche fragrances, Polo fragrances, Giorgio Armani fragrances, Escada fragrances and one particularly disgustingly sweet Morgan fragrance, which, my parents disliked alot. My mum didn't want the Envy Me Guess fragrance again as she already had it, so she finally settled down with some green Escada fragrance and dad got himself some Drakka Noir one. I haven't got the slightest clue if I spelt Drakka Noir right. Why would people spend several hundreds just on liquids that they use to squirt on themselves?? My nostrils smell like a hundred and one flowers blooming in them now. Well, Jason entered the perfume shop with his parents and cousin and complained that it was smelly. Next, everyone including the lady told him that the only smelly thing in there was him. *Laughs*

I was in the car together with my parents around 11+ PM when we drove pass the road leaving BDC and heading towards the Shell Station opposite Kempas, when my dad told us to look at the new fountain by the roadside. As I was in the process of SMSing, I looked around blurrly and asked where and what fountain. Then, I spotted it. An eight-feet high jet of water splurting from the ground at utmost velocity. Apparently, they decided to build a beautiful fountain by the roadside to bedazzle tourists and passerbys that BDC area is extremely beautiful. And this is an eight-feet high fountain too. Simply remarkable...NOT! Apparently and in short, I shall just tell you that they were doing construction for the new flyover and they accidentally broke a pipe when they were drilling. Thus, resulting in an eight-feet high fountain shooting into the sky. Now, they are busy trying to shut the main flow of water and I really pity those staying near the water leakage, they'll be suffering the next morning when they wake up to brush their teeth and realize there isn't even a single drop of water dripping from the tap. Poor inhabitants...
